#9 Keaton Helber puts DU up 1-0 in the second period with this unassisted score for the first goal of the game.

The second semifinal of the 2017 Avalanche International Qualifier between the Littleton Hawks and the DU Junior Pioneers took place at the Pepsi Center to decide who would move on to play against Arvada in the finals.  The winner of the tournament will get the opportunity to represent the Avalanche at the Lions Cup International Tournament in Finland this spring.

The two teams took a while to get used to the flow of the game, as the game would head into the second period a scoreless tie.  That's when DU exploded for three goals in a five minute span to take ahold of the game and give them a 3-0 advantage heading into the third period.  Keaton Helber got them started with their first goal, Ben Ramsden-Wood followed that up minutes later, and Brick Fisher added another 30 seconds after that to put DU in control.

Littleton's Joey Wennogle got them on the board just a few minutes into the third period, but it would be all the offense the Hawks could muster up as the Jr. Pios would hold on to pull out the 3-1 win and advance to play Arvada in the Avalanche Qualifier finals.

#15 Ben Ramsden-Wood is able to sneak this goal between the post and the goalie to give DU a 2-0 lead in the second.
