#18 Andrew Kim finds a loose puck and lights the lamp with a power play goal over the pad and under the blocker arm to give his Boulder Bison a 2-0 lead toward the end of the first in their game against the New Mexico Roadrunners at the Sport Stable.
#25 Caleb Gold strikes it rich with his second goal of the game to put his Boulder squad up 3-1 on this short handed beauty.
The Rocky Mountain Regional Silver Stick tournament pool play continued at the Sport Stable on Saturday, as the Boulder Bison faced off with the New Mexico Roadrunners in Tier II Minor AA action.
Boulder got off to a hot start with consecutive goals less than two minutes apart toward the end of the first period. Caleb Gold (3G) got things started for the Bison, while teammate Andrew Kim followed that up with a power play goal moments later to give them a 2-0 advantage after one.
John Lachlan Henderson (1G, 1A) put the Roadrunners on the board to start the second period and cut the deficit to 2-1 for New Mexico, but the Caleb Gold show would prove to be too much to overcome. Gold would get the rare trifecta of goals, collecting even strength, power play, and shorthanded tallies to help guide Boulder to a 4-3 victory.
