#23 Sam Zis scores an unassisted goal for the first of the game to give his Boulder Bison a 1-0 lead in the first in their Rocky Mountain Silver Stick matchup against the Junior Coyotes on Friday.
Rocky Mountain Regional Silver Stick Tier II Bantam AA pool play action wrapped up at the Promenade on Friday night, with a match up between the Boulder Hockey Club Bison and the visiting Phoenix Junior Coyotes.
Both teams were evenly matched and traded goals through the first two periods. Sam Zis got the scoring started with a snapping wrister between defenders to put Boulder up 1-0, but the Coyotes answered back almost immediately on a Dominic Brennan goal to tie it at 1-1 after the first period.
The Bison started the second with a power play goal just 29 seconds into the period to take a brief 2-1 lead, however, once again the Coyotes knotted things up on a Anthony Lautz score midway through the second period. A scoreless third period would bring no resolution to this one, as the two would skate to a hard fought 2-2 tie.
#10 Anthony Lautz score the final goal of the game for the Jr. Coyotes to even the score at 2-2 in the second period.
