Saturday at Sport Stable

Colorado Rampage 13U AAA vs. San Diego Junior Gulls 13U AAA

In a see-saw battle, the San Diego Junior Gulls were able to score the last three goals of the game to pull away to a 5-3 win over the Colorado Rampage on Saturday at the Sport Stable in Superior.  The Gull's Samuel Harris (3G, 1A) scored two in the second and topped it off with a power play goal in the third for the hatty, while teammate Luke Stengler (1G, 1A) put the finishing touches on the victory with a power play goal to seal it.

#22 Sam Kleinsmith is popping bottles with this rip to tie the game at 1-1 for his Colorado Rampage13U AAA.

Evolution 13U AAA vs. Golden State Eagles 13U AAA

In one of the best games of the day, the Evolution 13U AAA took a 3-0 lead after the first period with William Samuel Choi (1G, 1A) leading the way early.  Golden State would not give in though, as Cody Nielsen (1G, 1A) would make it a 3-1 game in the second.  The Eagles' Rylan Yates (2G) would save his best for last, scoring the final two goals of regulation 40 seconds apart to send it to overtime and eventually a shootout.  After the goaltenders on each team shut down the first five shooters, again it was Cody Nielsen with the late game heroics to give Golden State the miraculous 4-3 comeback shootout victory.

#9 Elijah Hunt buries this backhander off the rebound to give Evolution an early 2-0 lead. Golden State would come back to win 4-3 in a shootout.

Omaha 14U AAA vs. Arizona Bobcats 14U AAA

After a scoreless first period, Omaha's Braden Husby put his team in front with a goal late in the second period to make it 1-0.  The Bobcats would answer back with a backbreaking short handed goal from Ethan Eddleblute to tie the score at 1-1 and force overtime.  In the extra session, Arizona's Erik Atchison would snipe the game winner over the glove shoulder to give his squad a thrilling 2-1 comeback overtime winner.

CO Springs Tigers Minor AA Black vs. Arizona Bobcats 15U AAA

Colorado Springs' Alexander Leaf scored the games only goal on the power play just about midway through the first period to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead, and that would be all that they would need to go on to defeat the Arizona Bobcats.  The goaltending was spectacular in this game, with both net minders putting on a show between the pipes.  Arizona's Ben Shouten (21 SV, 1 GAA, .955 SV%) played tough in a loss and Colorado Springs' Eric Buchholz (24 SV, 0 GAA, 1.00 SV%) came up big with a stick save on a penalty shot to help the Tigers blank Arizona for the shutout win.

Rocky Mountain RoughRiders 15U AAA vs. Golden State Eagles

The Golden State Eagles 15U AAA got a late second period goal from Brian Faun and an early third period score from Ryan Amirsehhi to give them all the offense they would need to pull out a 2-0 victory over the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders.  However, the player of the game goes to Golden State goaltender Victor Bodin (27 SV, 0 GAA, 1.00 SV%) who had several incredible saves, including a flash of the leather on a penalty shot in the third period to help maintain the shutout victory.
